I had a little extra time today to make a card for Robyn's Pinkalicious Blog Hop challenge. Here's something that uses black and some of my favorite colors (pink and turquoise.)

I used the Paisley cartridge that I picked up at the Michael's sale a few weeks ago to make the cute zebra. I used Birthday Bash for the word celebrate. The patterned paper is yet another piece from my old, old stash of Jill's Paper Doll World papers. I think I have enough of those to last me forever!

Gearing Up for the Second Biggest Holiday of our Preschool Year

Valentine's Day is a huge big deal at my preschool. Our school has a long-standing tradition of a big, fancy Valentine's Day Brunch that the parents attend. The children work for weeks with the music teacher learning some love-themed songs to sing for their moms and dads. The children also make gifts for their parents and the parents give a class gift to the teachers (usually something fabulous that is handmade by the kids.) Then, we do a class Valentine card exchange. In class today, we made the bags that will act as our Valentine mailboxes next Monday (I will hopefully have some pictures of those to post later in the week...they are really cute!) This weekend, I made the goodie bags for my students. I used the Slumber Party Lite Cricut cartridge to make the scalloped edge polka dot hearts. I used regular sandwich sized Ziploc bags to hold the mini cans of Play-Doh and the animal finger puppets that I picked up at the Target Dollar Spot a while ago(this is the monkey, but there are also lions, frogs, and elephants.) I think they came out really cute. I can't wait to hand these out next week! I hope the kids like them. They tend to get a lot of Valentine cards with candy attached, so hopefully these will be something a little bit different.

Aardvark Card

It has been a crazy few weeks here. There has been snow, snow, more snow, ice, and the forecast for plenty of additional snow. We have had four snow days and three delayed openings in the past three weeks. These days off are in addition to two days off for Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday. With all of that time off from work, you'd think I'd have done more in my craft room. Sadly, I made very little last month. Here's a birthday card I made this week with the Birthday Bash cartridge and more really old paper I have been trying to use up. The blue is from a Provo Craft Bitty Pad and the gray patterned paper is from Jill's Paper Doll World (does anyone remember that? it's been a while!)
